First check the drain hose for restrictions- and if you find any restrictions, correct the problem.

But if there are no restrictions, start the washer and check for 120v AC supply at the drain pump- or whatever specs say (on the pump label depending on where you live.

Now, you’ll want to replace the control board if you found zero.

On the other hand -you got 120v AC- carefully remove the pump and check for blockage.

You obviously want to remove any restrictions and then see if the problem is solved- if not, you might have to replace the entire pump(Here is a compatible drain pump replacement part).

Oftentimes the problem is caused by a bad drain pump relay.

But you need to be aware that a wire could be off of the pump or even a failed pump.

Suggested fixes:

Remove the pump then check for any blockage (and clear them).

If you don’t see a blockage, go ahead and start the washer then again check for 120v AC(at the pump motor)when it should be draining.

0 volts means a bad board (so replace the console control board) while 120 volts means the board is fine and you might instead need to replace the pump itself

 

Frigidaire affinity washer error code E31

Meaning:

The pressure sensor cannot communicate with control board

What to do:

Inspect the wiring(the wiring between the pressure sensor and the control board) and in case of defective wiring, correct the affected spots.

Otherwise, if the wiring is okay, go ahead and replace the pressure sensor.

Now, if this does not solve the problem, consider replacing the control board.

 

Frigidaire affinity washer error code E35

Meaning:

Indicates water overfill

Meaning:

The door switch is open (interpretation by the control board)

To start with, check whether the loading door is closed and, of course, close it.

And if closed, in the J2 plug(on the console control), measure voltage from the black wire to the ground with power on.

Error code E44, E45, E46

Meaning:

Problems with the control board

Recommended repairs:

In case of these three errors, you may have to replace the console control board.

 

Error code E47 &E48

Error code E47 means interpretation that PTC circuit is open(in spin) by the control board.

Error code E48 means the board is interpreting that the door PTC circuit is closed.

Recommended repairs:

You might have a bad door lock assembly- replace.

If that does not help, see if replacing the control board will help.

 

Error code E52

Meaning:

Error e52 indicates there is a bad signal from the taco generator.

Recommended repairs:

Disconnect the plug from the drive motor then measure the resistance between pins 4 & 5 in the motor.

Now, if the reading is between 80 & 130 Ohms, replace motor speed control board.

But where the meter reads differently, the most probable fix is to replace motor.

 

Error code E56, E57 & E58

What each error indicates:

• E56 – Indicates high motor current
• E57 – Shows very high current on the inverter
• E58 –Points to high current on the motor phase

Error code E67

Meaning:

Shows there is a problem with the input voltage on the microprocessor

Meaning:

There is current leakage to ground on heater or fuse opened

Bad drum water NTC

Error code E75

Meaning:

Shows there is a problem with the water temperature sensor circuit

Repair:

To correct this, check the resistance of water valve NTC-you want it to read around 50K ohms.

Error code E82 & E83

Meaning:

Console control board fault

If wiring is defective, fix the wiring problem.

Error code E93, E94, E95, E97,  E98

Meaning of the errors:

Fault code E93, E97 -Console control or main control board fault

Fault code E94– main board control fault

Fault code E98– Console control issue

How to correct the errors:

Fault code E93, E94, E97:

Check wiring between main control board & user interface

If wiring is defective, fix the wiring problem.

And if the wiring appears fine, replace user interface board.

And if the problem persists, consider replacing main control board.

Fault code E98:

Check wiring between main control board & motor control board

Is wiring incorrect? If yes, fix wiring problem.

Is wiring looking good? If yes, replace main control board.

If the issue persists, replace motor control board

 

Error code EA1

Meaning:

Incoming power is out of limits

Suggested fix:

The first thing you should do is check if the frequency of incoming power is correct(and probably you have to call your power utility here).

Now, if correct, you should change out the unit’s main control board.

 

Error code EA2

Meaning:

Shows the incoming line voltage is over 130 VAC

Potential fix:

Check voltage at outlet. If < 130v AC, replace console control board.

 

Error code EA3

Meaning:

Shows that the incoming voltage is below 90v AC

Potential fix:

Check voltage at outlet.

If > 90v AC, replace console control board.

 

Error code EA5

Meaning:

Main Voltage sensing unsuccessful

Potential fix:

Check if the frequency and voltage of incoming power is correct(and probably you have to call your power utility here).
Now, if correct, you should change out the unit’s main control board.

 

Error code EF1

Meaning:

Signifies a clogged drain pump

Solution:

You just need to unclog the drain pump

 

Error code EF2

Meaning:

Signals too much soap

Possible fix:

Reduce the amount (of soap) you are putting.

 

Frigidaire affinity washer e90 error code

E90 is just a ‘general’ (It is a group fault code could so it does not say where the issue is) fault code indicating there’s loss of communication typically between control panel and main control board(central control board)

You can try the following if you’re seeing this error:

Unplug the washer then plugging the machine back in – to see if the code resets.

If that does not resolve the error…………

Solution 1

Remove the front panel then and reseat all the connectors you see on control panel- that’s because the communication breakdown may be from a loose connector.

Now reassemble (after reseating every connector) and check if it will work.

Oh, and it may be important to clean every pin before reseating it as dust could cause communication loss.

I have to emphasize this: Your first best is check and then clean all those wiring connections you can locate- and by the way, I recommend you do that at both boards.

Which reminds me that I did not explain about the boards..

Now, in these washers, you’ll find two boards: The “main” / “central” control board which is right behind the control panel and what we often call motor control board, found inside the cabinet (you will see it mounted to the machine’s base plate or frame).

So again check and then clean all those wiring connections- you can just use an electrical contact cleaner- it works well when it comes to cleaning electronic connections / pins on these types of boards and in the harness

Solution 2

Keep in mind that the problem is not always from a communication glitch… A power hiccup could be behind the communication cut so test if power is reaching the board.

Solution 3

And it is also possible that one of your washer’s control boards has failed.

So if all connections look good and clean yet the problem remains, perhaps you need to swap out the “main” / “central) control board.
