So, how do you put the washer into manual diagnostic test mode?

Here are the steps to follow to enter manual test mode:

Step 1: Put the washer into service diagnostic test modes

To do that, follow the instructions described below..

Step 2: Go into the Manual Test Mode

Once you have put the washer into service diagnostic test mode, it is now easy to move into the Manual Test Mode.

Indeed, all you need to do is turn the knob until you see the status LEDs light as follows:

Put another way, keep turning the knob until the Spin and Done LEDs light up.

Don’t forget that the washer outputs will be OFF upon accessing manual test mode- Remember the START button is used to choose the output you want to test (cold and hot water valves).

1. Unplug the washer (or disconnect power).
2. Remove the console to clear your path to the main control.
3. Remove connector J 3 (from the main control)-see the main control’s diagram below.
4. Check the harness connection to the solenoid valves.

If the harness connection(s) appear okay, test resistance of the valve(s) coils across the following J 3 connector pin-outs:

Valve	Pin Out
Hot water valve	J3, 1 & 4
Cold water valve	J3, 1 & 5

If there is no problem, the resistance must be 890–1.3k Ω

Otherwise, below is what you should replace depending on your resistance readings:

• If the resistance readings are outside of range by tens of ohms, replace the entire valve assembly (for the valve in question).
• If resistance values are within the above range, replace the main control board and calibrate the washer.

Once you have done that, be sure to run automatic test (in diagnostic mode) to verify the repair.
