Verify that the dishwasher is level

The first thing you will confirm is that the unit is level.

If it is not level, then, level it by adjusting the mounting position of its legs/rollers.

Inspect the door gaskets

Start by opening the door and confirming that there is no foreign object stuck in the door’s left corner.

Other than that, it could be likely that there is some gunk stuck on the dishwasher’s bottom left door gasket.

This would result in the gasket not making full contact with the seals and in turn create an opening for the water to flow out.

The best way to fix this is by gently wiping the door gaskets with a moist cloth and a vinegar-water mixture (in a ratio of 1:3 respectively).

Additionally, it could be that your door gasket is worn out.

That being so, carefully inspect it for any signs of wearing out such as cracks.

Is the dishwasher over sudsy?

Having said that, make sure you are using the recommended detergent (and the right amount).

This is the most probable cause if you are using detergent pods – switch to a loose powder detergent and see if the leaks stop.

But, before that, be sure to run two rinse cycles to get rid of the extra suds.

However, if you are using the right amount of the recommended detergent yet the unit is still leaking, it could be that there is a build-up of detergent inside the dishwasher walls.

And, it is this built-up detergent that is causing the sudsiness.

Subsequently, you might consider washing the inside of the dishwasher.

Inspect the lower sprayer arm

For the most part, this is usually the main problem.

At first glance, the sprayer might look fine.

However, this is not always the case.

Having said that, start by inspecting this arm for rotation problems.

If it does not rotate freely, it will spray water in one direction only – in this case, the left corner. It could be this squirting at the door that is causing the abnormal leaks.

That being so, remove any food particles that might be trapped in the sprayer arm.

Also, dislodge any particles that might be trapped inside the sprayer arm holes as this might also prevent the arm from rotating.

Maintenance tip: you can use a toothpick or needle to dislodge these particles.

It is likely that the two sides of the spray arm might have separated along the seam.

This will result in the water spraying out through the spray arm seams.

This would create waves that will spill over the tub lips and out through the bottom of the door – in this case, the bottom left corner.

When this happens, it is not easy to see the crack with the naked eye.

Now, to inspect the spray arm for cracks, remove it from its position and put it under a sink with running water – water should only come out of the designated holes.

If water is coming out of your spray arm from a different location, then, the spray arm is gone and you should replace it.

Finally, it could be that one of the screws inside the spray arm is loose.

That being so, unscrew the plastic wing nut that holds the spin arm in position.

Proceed to remove the spin arm and the white plastic cover it is attached to.

Underneath, you should see several torx screws – if they are loose, be sure to tighten them.

Also, if one or more of these screws are missing, be sure to replace it/them.

Maintenance tip: if the loose screws were the problem, then, you will need to be tightening them every few months as the problem might repeat itself.
